Hello, welcome to O’Hara Photography! We are Hollie O’Hara and Brendan O’Hara, husband and wife Yorkshire wedding photographer team. Hornsea and Hull based wedding photographers. We’ve covered weddings, events and portrait sessions from Bridlington, Hull, Hornsea, Beverley, Barnsley, Scarborough and Doncaster, sometimes travelling further afield.

We don’t limit ourselves to a specific type of photography. We love what we do, and are always keen to provide our clients with their preferred style of photos. That said, if we were to claim a “specialty style”, we’d say it was documentary- candid and natural. Some call it documentary wedding photography, reportage wedding photography or even wedding photojournalism, it all means the same thing…you will barely notice we are there.

Our main aim with any wedding is to document the day, and all those timeless moments of joy. So whether you’re after traditional poses, or wish to be more casual or creative with your images, we aim to deliver in relaxed, unobtrusive style.

Most of our clientele comes to us for wedding photography, but we also offer event, studio and portrait sessions. We’ve worked as event photographers for York Racecourse and Tribfest, and are happy to meet clients on location for everything from newborn photos, to graduation, portraiture, or even pet photography.

We cater to all budgets- so you won’t need to break the bank! Our versatile wedding packages include short or full day coverage. So whether you’re having a small civil ceremony, or a larger one in a big venue, O’Hara Photography will be there to capture the story of your day.  You can view our sample portfolio for UK & Yorkshire wedding photography to get an idea of our style.

At your wedding we like to mix in with the guests, almost ninja-like, to the point that you forget we have a camera.  By mixing in with the guests it means we will capture the fun of the day in an intrusive way.   Our primary aim is to make everyone feel comfortable, and by achieving this means we will capture more authentic, candid and natural wedding photography.  This even applies to any portraits, groups or formals.  If wedding guests comment that we are friendly, approachable and unobtrusive then we did our job!

Brendan was PERFECT from the word, go! His bubbly personality and approachable demeanour meant our introductions started with a huge hug and a welcome to my day (from the bride!) From that moment on, he was simply one of us. Nothing was awkward. There were no awkward ‘camera in the face’ moments, no ‘do that again please, I missed it’. Everything was candid, natural and beautiful.

Hopefully by browsing through our website you will understand our style, and get a feel for our passion for wedding photography.

Wedding photography really has gone to a new level in recent years, with new high-tech equipment, cameras and creativity.  When we set out to be Yorkshire wedding photographers we knew exactly the style of photography we wanted, and that was to document a wedding practically from the start to finish. Your wedding day isn’t supposed to be a photo shoot, so there will be no forced-posed photos with us, unless asked to do so.

We always strive in our work to provide something special for all of our couples.  Capturing the little details or a split second moment that can be looked back upon in the future.  For us, nothing beats capturing the emotion and fun of the day.

We always prefer to meet up with our clients before the big day, and we don’t mind traveling to you, or if you’d prefer we meet with all of our clients in a little coffee shop here in our hometown of Hornsea…tea or coffee is on us!  If meeting in person isn’t really an option, we can communicate via email, text, phone call or even Facebook.

We like to call ourselves photography storytellers. From events, portraiture or the grandeur of a wedding day. Documenting the key moments to the candid and natural scenes is our job, and we love nothing more.
