We had the privilege of being the wedding photographer for Lucy and John Mill here in our local town of Hornsea, East Yorkshire recently, and it was a brilliant day all round! Just like the last Hornsea wedding that we covered it was raining cats and dogs, but that didn’t take away from a really wonderful day for the newly married couple.

The wedding ceremony took place at the Hornsea Town hall, which we’ve always loved as it has a lovely warm feeling about it, plus the natural light coming in from the large windows just makes photographing ceremonies a dream. Because most ceremonies don’t allow flash we always aim to shoot with the light, but sometimes we just have to rely on what light is available and that can typically be fluorescent lighting, but thankfully no fluorescent light bulb was in sight!

The ceremony was amazing, with Hollie and I getting fully immersed in it. So many lovely and touching moments, but also John and his best men clearly have a fun and strong bond as they relentlessly gave him some light-hearted gib.

From the ceremony we all headed to the Hornsea golf club, which is a brilliant venue to host a reception. As always Hollie and I just got busy capturing as many fun moments as possible. Some photographers love nothing more than a dramatic pose, but for Hollie and I we love to capture moments of fun and laughter more than anything.

A huge congratulations to Lucy and John on your big day, and thank you for choosing us to be your photographers!
